Side table re-do

Last month my husband and I saw a huge sign of a garage sale going on in my in-laws village. We decide to go and check it out. and found this side table the lady was nice to give us a discount. At first I thought of putting it beside our bed but after measuring it, it wouldn't  fit to the sides. A day aftre i told my husband that i'll just use it at the ground floor as a corner table. Then start the sanding and disinfecting.

This is the table in it's original look

After sanding and disinfecting it using vinegar (I read from one blogger that she used vinegar to give the wood a clean state)Gave it enough coat of primer, i used a spray primer.

Let the primer dry for at least an hour (just to be sure). then after that spray again with the  black paint. i used a very matte paint to match my other furniture but it turns out that it was too matte!

Then i decided to paint it with clear polyurethane to give some shine. I have also learned my lesson on using the polyurethane as it could leave a visible paint brush mark maybe next time I should try using a foam. Again just to be sure I let the paint dry for a day.

For the top of the table i choose this really nice white and silver paper wrapper. just trace the table then cut accordingly.

Used a spray adhesive. Make sure to smoothen out all bubbles.

And then I mixed a 1 part glue and 1 part water to make a mod podge. This is to protect and give the paper a smooth shiny glide.
I also added a knob to it by just using a mighty bond permanent glue.
This is the finish table. What do you think ?
It perfectly matched my other furniture.

Hope you guys and gals got inspired and thank you for stopping by.
