Side table re-do

Last month my husband and I saw a huge sign of a garage sale going on in my in-laws village. We decide to go and check it out. and found this side table the lady was nice to give us a discount. At first I thought of putting it beside our bed but after measuring it, it wouldn't  fit to the sides. A day aftre i told my husband that i'll just use it at the ground floor as a corner table. Then start the sanding and disinfecting.

This is the table in it's original look

After sanding and disinfecting it using vinegar (I read from one blogger that she used vinegar to give the wood a clean state)Gave it enough coat of primer, i used a spray primer.

Let the primer dry for at least an hour (just to be sure). then after that spray again with the  black paint. i used a very matte paint to match my other furniture but it turns out that it was too matte!

Then i decided to paint it with clear polyurethane to give some shine. I have also learned my lesson on using the polyurethane as it could leave a visible paint brush mark maybe next time I should try using a foam. Again just to be sure I let the paint dry for a day.

For the top of the table i choose this really nice white and silver paper wrapper. just trace the table then cut accordingly.

Used a spray adhesive. Make sure to smoothen out all bubbles.

And then I mixed a 1 part glue and 1 part water to make a mod podge. This is to protect and give the paper a smooth shiny glide.
I also added a knob to it by just using a mighty bond permanent glue.
This is the finish table. What do you think ?
It perfectly matched my other furniture.

Hope you guys and gals got inspired and thank you for stopping by.

Tile coasters

Today was a good day I was able to washed clothes then went to a my friends house to give her some plants for their new home. And I was also able to make this easy tile coasters. Most of this DIY coasters that i see on the web were made using paper, modge podge and of course tiles, but since i still like the design of this tiles I decide to leave it as is.

Supplies needed:

Tiles
Felt paper (cut into same size with tiles, this is to prevent the tiles leaving a mark on your table)
Scissors & ruler
Glue gun/mighty bond/ spray adhesive or whatever float your boat!

I wanted to achieve a smooth corners so i slightly cut the corners round

I First used glue gun to stick the felt paper (not in photo) but it just wont stick. So I tried mighty bond too it sticks but leaves a white mark. Lastly i used spray adhesive (not in photo) comes out much better!

These are the finish coasters. I made big ones too.

Im gonna use this tomorrow =)

Bathroom tiles upgrade!

Okay so here's what I've been doing lately. This is one of my many projects (because of pinterest! I got so inspired) I got the idea from the website below ↓. I love her bathroom!

http://inmyownstyle.com/2011/08/how-i-transformed-a-vinyl-floor-for-10-00.html

Supplies:

Vinyl sticker ( I choose black)
X-acto knife
Self healing mat
ruler
pen/pencil
square pattern

Supplies that you need.

Sadly I wasn't able to take pictures while I was cutting the vinyl and sticking it to the tiles.

Here is a shot of my white bathroom

Shower view

Make sure that the tiles are clean and dry so that the vinyl will stick to it.

Isn't it better?

I'm still debating on having a custom built mirror.

Enjoy! and I hope that i inspire you as I am inspired buy many blogs that I read and follow.
